The Music Room, Gregynog
Sunday, 13 June 2010, 3.00pm
Academy of Ancient Music /
Pavlo Beznosiuk, director
A programme inspired by the Concerts of Antient Music, the London society formed in 1776 to preserve music ‘more than twenty years old’.
Making their Gregynog Festival début, the principal players of the modern-day Academy of Ancient Music reflect the variety and colour of these original Concerts of Antient Music through sonatas, trios and concertos for strings, wind and continuo by Handel, Corelli, Geminiani and Avison.
